Sing, sing, sing!
In the 1920s the teacher's wife, Mrs Heinrich, taught some adults to sing in harmony.
Over the years many community people have joined in choirs: women's, men's and ladies, school, and youth choirs. The first of many interstate choir trips was made by the Hermannsburg Men's Choir in 1956. Since 1969 the women have especially kept the choir tradition going.
In recent years the Ntaria Choir of Hermannsburg has been one of the six community choirs united to form the Central Australian Aboriginal Women's Choir. This choir went to Germany in 2015, and Washington DC, USA, in 2018.
In 2020 the Ntaria Choir has eight members. They sing mainly in Western Arrarnta and Pitjantjatjara languages - a pretty special choir!
